Waiting on Wednesday - Suspicion by Alexandra Monir

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating.

Suspicion by Alexandra Monir
Release Date: December 9, 2014

I've never read anything by Alexandra Monir, but the description of this book really caught my attention last week.  The cover is very pretty and unique and I always love a good mystery.  Add in some romance and this sounds like a sure winner for me.

Goodreads Overview:

Mysterious. Magnificent. Creepy. Welcome to Rockford Manor.

"There's something hidden in the Maze." Seventeen-year-old Imogen has never forgotten the last words her father said to her seven years ago, before the blazing fire that consumed him, her mother, and the gardens of her family's English country manor.

Haunted by her parents' deaths, Imogen moves to New York City with her new guardians. But when a letter arrives with the news of her cousin's untimely death, revealing that Imogen is now the only heir left to run the estate, she returns to England and warily accepts her role as duchess.

All is not as it seems at Rockford, and Imogen quickly learns that dark secrets lurk behind the mansion's aristocratic exterior, hinting that the spate of deaths in her family were no accident. And at the center of the mystery is Imogen herself--and Sebastian, the childhood friend she has secretly loved for years. Just what has Imogen walked into?

Combining a spine-tingling mystery, powerful romance, and unforgettable characters, SUSPICION is an action-packed thrill ride.

  1. Great minds think alike! This was my pick as well. I can't wait for this one…I love a good mystery combined with historical fiction and romance. Great pick!

    1. That is definitely a downside. I try to pick a book with a release date that is within a few months, but I have used all of the books with upcoming releases or the books I want don't have covers yet. This was the best I could do for this week.

  4. This does look interesting. I will always pause at the words creepy and mysterious. Great pick!
